Our Community Cookery School teams deliver a variety of cookery workshops, learning programmes and one-off cooking events on behalf of local communities. We are actively looking to partner with Housing Associations across the UK that share our determination to eradicate food poverty and support those most vulnerable in society by commissioning this vital outreach work.
We can also provide training opportunities for members of your team who may be interested in becoming your in-house Community Cooking Champion and leading this outreach work themselves as part of their continuous professional development.

Over the years our team in Manchester have delivered a range of healthy eating cookery workshops and learning programmes on behalf of Salix tenants. Projects included working within an accommodation block specifically for young people aged 18-25 and encouraging greater use of the shared kitchen facilities. We also set up a cooking club for elderly people in a sheltered accommodation setting – helping to bring people together on a weekly basis and cooking healthy meals from scratch.
In North Wales we have delivered a range of cooking on a budget workshops and food sector employability programmes in towns such as Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Abergele. This often involves breathing new life into underused community facilities and turning them into safe spaces from which our beneficiaries can improve their cooking confidence, wellbeing and budgeting skills.
Since 2014 we have delivered a variety of our cookery workshops and learning programmes in communities across Rochdale including Middleton, Kirkholt, Littleborough, Milnrow and Heywood. Working with our housing association partners RBH, we have been able to provide services for tenants in greatest need ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to learn how to cook.
In South Wales we have delivered several of our Future Community Chef programmes in secondary schools. These workshops give young people the skills and confidence needed to inspire their friends and family to eat healthily, and support their aspirations of working in the food sector!
In Stockport our Community Cookery School team was able to deliver our Live Well Programme – that gives participants the chance to learn 8 healthy new recipes, boost their understanding of nutrition and improve budgeting skills. Participants also received lifelong access to our Cooking & Nutrition Portal – giving them access to hundreds of additional recipes, cooking tips videos & support with growing their own fruit and veg at a local community allotment.
